Rosenborg Castle - the entire Danish treasury

Rosenborg Castle - the entire Danish treasury

In the middle of Kongens Have, the Life Guards guard the entire Danish treasury, Rosenborg Castle. The castle is built by Christian 4. over 400 years ago and has over time hidden the most precious treasures of Danish kings and queens, including the crown jewels, which to this day are still used by H.M. The queen.

See, among other things, Christian IV’s blood-stained clothes, immerse yourself in the stories of royal love affairs and explore the cellar for wild weapons and the old Rosenborg wine. Visit the Knights’ Hall, which overlooks inner Copenhagen and experience the 12 large tapestries, the glass cabinet and three silver lions that are still used for royal funerals.

If the Danish weather is appropriate, you can take a walk around the castle, which hides exciting architectural details and sculptures. Sit on a bench in Rosenhaven at the back of the castle and follow the day’s exercises at the Life Guards’ barracks. End your visit to the castle shop, where you can find books, games, souvenirs and much more.
